What to wear to a baby shower?

I have never before been invited to a baby shower, probably because I'm still only 20 and most of my friends have been to busy partying and enjoying their life. Well yesterday I attended my first baby shower as I am going to become an auntie in June! However due to my lack of experience with these events I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to wear. So I began browsing online for some inspiration.

The first think I looked for was a jumpsuit, purely for the fact that they are so easy to thrown on and accessorise. I loved the print on this one, which is actually by Lipsy, a store that I haven't stepped in for years! Unfortunately due to the weather being so hit and miss I decided that I might need to save this one until summer.

I then thought that Zara was bound to do something beautiful that I could wear and actually came across two dresses.

Both of these dresses are really flattering shapes and are suitable for spring as they don't have bright colours that can only be worn when the sun is shinning. I would definitely be buying these for daytime occasions as I think they can be dressed up or down and would look great with a light jacket or coat incase it is a bit chilly!

Printed Dress (Left) £45.99
Floral Print Dress (Right) £39.99

Despite me looking at such lovely things, I actually found out that the baby shower was at 7pm and therefore I maybe needed to rethink my ideas.

My final outfit I fell in love with. These jeans are gorgeous and can be worn on several occasion. The cropped shirt can be worn with the jeans as they sit slightly high waisted and therefore won't show off  too much skin. Simply add a statement necklace and you are baby shower ready!

Major Missguided Crush

Missguided is a website that I could spend hours browsing. It is full of the latest trends and due to the next day delivery I can always rely on them for a last minute outfit. There is also the added advantage that their items don't break the bank! So after my latest browse I thought I would share with you some of my must haves for spring (I had to try and narrow it down as I liked so much).

Shorts £17.99

The first item is this tailored short suit in baby pink. I have wanted one of these for so long as I think it can be worn for so many different occasions and the pieces will look just as nice style on their own. The shorts come with a baby pink belt and overall I think they will be really flattering. The jacket isn't available on the website yet but it is definitely something I will be looking out for.

Next up is this boxy top which is available in three colours- lemon, lime and coral. I have picked lemon as my favourite but I also like the coral. This top looks much more expensive and can be dressed up or dressed down, therefore making it another key item for my summer wardrobe.

Another pastel item, but this playsuit is one of my all time favourites! I love wearing shirts, just because I think they are so versatile and can make it look like you've worked really hard on your outfit. Therefore this playsuit is the next thing I plan to buy, especially because I am a sucker for baby blue! I think this would be perfect for summer nights, with the long sleeves keeping out the chill.

Finally with co-ordinates being so popular this season, I had to try and pick just one from the beautiful designs Missguided currently have. I went for white as 'all white' is on trend but also so I can add a pop of colour with accessories and create several outfits. I also think the curved hem will be flattering and help create a celebrity inspired outfit, even more reason for it to be my favourite.

My final piece (for this post at least) is this pastel jumper. Obviously the colours are on trend for Spring 2014 but knowing the English weather we aren't quite ready for skirts and dresses. This is the perfect way to stay fashionable, with little effort and in the unpredictable weather.

I hope you've enjoyed my first post! I suggest you all go and check out the amazing items available on Missguided.
